--- latest Update: Salt & Pepper Insert! ---
Since the camping season is starting again I designed Inserts to use the Container for Salt & Pepper or sth. like that. Also I did minor improvements to all parts.
--– Printed O-Rings (TPU)---
I do not recommend using self-printed TPU O-rings. In my tests, these performed worse than original ones. But they are still better than no O-Ring. But only if you use very very soft TPU! I have 2 versions. One O-Ring to put into the lid and one for the outer O-Ring version. (Keeps the threads dry too). Dont combine both O-Rings because that might reduce the sealing capability!
--- Small hint in case of fitting problems ---
Some have problems with the lid being too small. This can happen if the printer is not set up well and larger tolerances are required. You can separate the individual parts of the .stl in your slicer and enlarge the cover a little to solve the problem.
(Google "your slicer name" + "separate objects" or "splitting model")
--The POWER of Scale!--
You may scale the Container to your needs! For example bigger for more stuff or smaller to transport some pills, ear protection or sth. else on your keychain. try it out yourself! But keep in mind that the container needs to stay round and the needed O-rings will change their size too (if you print a version with O-Rings). Also watch the printed perimeters in your slicer! (at least 2 will be needed to giv it protection vs. water!)
But dont worry too much! Simply test it out yourself!
Inner Volumes as base to scale the container:
Large: 69 mm hight x 19 mm diameter.
Small: 36 mm hight x 19 mm diameter.

After downloading and using a nice EDC Container I instantly wanted to create my own version :)
I designed it to be waterproof, slim profile and it should be able to contain a 18650 battery. Also it should be able to secure it with a lanyard/ rope, be very stable and have a smooth inner tube.
I dunked them in water and none of these containers leaked air. But of course that is not enough for me :) So I put them into my vacuum chamber and tested the container to their limits!
I printed different versions with PLA, PETG, TPU, PA-CF.
2 of my versions require an O-Ring: EDC InRing: 23 mm x 2,5 mm EDC OutRing: 25 mm x 2,5 mm. (Or a little smaller)
So the tested Order of Sealing quality is EDC Out > EDC In > EDC No > Original
I hope you like my Design of an EDC Container. Im open to suggestions for improvement and would love to hear some feedback :)
Have fun and keep printin!
Print recommendations: I printed the 2 parts (lid and body) sequentially with 3-4 perimeter and 100% Infill.
Additional for the NoRing Version: If you heat up the inside of the cap carefully and then screw the two pieces together it will create a better sealing! (I printed 1 part with PA-CF and a TPU lid modified with this method)
Update 05.05.2022
→ Added Smaller Versions to fit a 18350 Batterie (Scale this model up a little bit (only Y-Axis) for matches ,-) )
→ Added a cutout for an O- InRing in the OutRing version to secure a good pressure on the outer O-Ring (Makes sense, right? :D)
→ Added a few layers of material in the cap if you want to try out the burning Trick.
Update 15.06.2022
Added Holder for the standard Container.
Big: Fits all normal versions fine and grabs them tight.
Small: Fits all normal versions and the small versions except EDC_Outring_Small.
Print tipps:
Update 28.09.2022
Added TPU O-Ring stls. Use with very soft TPU only!
Update 02.06.2023
Redesigned all parts a little so they look and feel cleaner. Also added a Salt & Pepper Insert.
If you like my work, I would be very happy about a small tip :)
