Great model! I have printed and am in the process of putting it all together, I just have one question. How much flex should the blade have? I feel like mine looks like (when held parallel to the ground) those rubber guns in movies that droop. I printed in PETG with .2 layer size. Should I have used more infill than I did or is there some else in the process that strengthens it.

@Jatkins11_1637201 Thank you!
Yes, unfortunately it is normal that it bends in that direction.
However perpendicular to the ground it holds without problems.
The thing is that, at the time, I wanted to make it as close as possible to the original and unfortunately there was not too much room to add anything that could add consistency.
There are people who have made the blade with a piece of wood.
At least for posing it looks good :)

I printed it in PLA just to see if my printer was able to print all the pieces. It came out great, can't wait to print it in PETG!!!

With how much infill did you printed it?

"There's something I ought to tell you - I'm not left-handed either."

Excellent print files and variety of options!

I ended up using a large piece of wood I sanded to shape for the blade, as I wasn't a fan of how flimsy my printed sword turned out - which speaks more to my shoddy printing\leveling than the files themselves. Similarly, the little dowels to keep things together didn't fit because of the bad leveling job.

Worthy of note; I used a resin printer for the pommel and ring just because I wanted the extra fine detail.

Incredibly happy with the end result!

Came out ok, but I gotta learn to be more pacient with my sanding.

I enjoyed this print and it came out pretty well. I did have some issues fitting the parts together since there didn't seem to be any allowance for material spread while printing. Nothing a bunch of sanding couldn't remedy though.

@theMattBoard_256136 - How did you create the grooves in the hilt?

@NealGilmore_3726826 it was created with a wrap of foam around the printed core

I loved that I see you used Maya for this. I have the replica movie prop and it's pretty spot on. Nice work!

Thank you.
Maya is my working tool (since version 1 and before that Poweranimator and before that TDI and before that Wavefront and ..... damn, I'm too old XDDDD).
Also for modeling more functional things I usually use Freecad.
To make the sword I looked for all the information possible and the biggest images I found were precisely of the replica.
Glad you like it.
