Simple protective case for the Flipper Zero Wi-Fi Module v1 development board.

Flipper Zero Wi-Fi Board Docs: https://docs.flipper.net/development/hardware/wifi-developer-board

Models Available:

  • Full Case
    • Requires 4x M3 screws/nuts for rigid assembly
    • Much more reliabiliy rigid than minimal case
    • Both ‘base’ and ‘lid’ are available with and without cutouts for debug headers
  • Minimal Case
    • Slightly thinner than full case (7mm vs 9mm)
    • No tools or hardware required for assembly
    • Relies on friction fit for rigidity, may not fit properly depending on your printer's tolerances
    • If future disassembly isn't an issue a few dabs of CA glue on the posts can make the minimal case just about as rigid as the full case.

Printing Notes

These were tested on a Prusa MINI+ FFF printer with Prusament PETG. The models were built with the intention of making FFF printing as easy as possible.

The “full" models include recesses for M3 screw heads and nuts, so it can be useful to enable support with a tighter pattern spacing (1.2mm) and interference pattern spacing (0.1mm) to keep things cleaner. After printing and before assembly it'll be important to carefully clean the recesses out to make sure that the hardware fits and can maintain a flush interface.

SLA printing hasn't been tested but should work fine as well. If you make a print with an SLA printer I'd appreciate it if you could post a make with some comments. :)

Update: 2022/12/14

Thanks for all of the support! Its been so cool to see this case used all over the place, from friends posting about their Flipper dev work online to YouTubers posting Flipper-related videos with their dev boards in this case. Massive thanks too to the folks that've posted makes or sent me messages of thanks.

I don't have a Patreon or ko-fi or anything, so if you'd like to show support just post a make, print a remix, or check some of my other work on Printables. Here are a few other projects I shared during this crazy year that I'm particularly proud of:

So, again, thank you for your support! Never stop making, remixing, and sharing. :)

Related Models

Some folks have made some cool stuff that's compatible with this dev-board case, so here are some links! :)

  • Want to keep those pins protected? Check out this cap from emmgr23!
    • I had wanted to make a cap with the original model (there's even a rough draft of one in the Fusoin 360 source file shared here) but didn't get around to testing and refining the idea. This one works pretty well though!
  • Added an SD reader to your board? This remix from king ! has you covered!
    • This is exactly why I love remix culture! A lot of folks have added SD readers to their boards and a few asked me to make cases to fit their modded boards but I just haven't had time.
  • Want to keep your dev board and Flipper together in a cozy case? Grab this remix of TruTech's excellent Flipper Zero Case from Zen Schuette!
    • Another great example of remix culture to the rescue! TruTech's Flipper Zero case is where I keep mine, particularly when on the go, and this lid remix is a nice way to keep the dev-board handy without having it jostling around in my bag.
  • Want a bigger case for more Marauder fun? Expand into this more roomy rugged case from beebo!
    • Lots of room for accessories on the go with a handy little dev board holder that'll fit this case nicely.
  • No 3D printer? Just buy a printed case from justcallmekoko on his Tindie store!
    • Given that this is a fully Creative Commons licensed model, he didn't need to ask, but he took the time to ask if he could sell printed cases and I was happy to provide my support.
  • Want to use heat-set inserts? This remix from George has you covered!
    • I made this model before I learned the art of heat-set inserts and had always intended to add a version using inserts but never got around to it. Thanks to George I don't have to. :)
