I needed a spool holder to put on the side of my IKEA Ivar shelf since the one included in the Prusa Mini kit took up too much desk space.
I used the 608Z ball bearings from the Prusa Mini spool holder.
It's attached to the base with a simple keyhole slot so it can be moved around and mounted in different setups.
Includes two bases, one for side mount on the IKEA Ivar shelf and one generic screw-on base which can be put anywhere.
Print with PETG or similar for strength, although I can't guarantee your 2 kg spool won't come crashing down mid 30h print.
Print the arm parts laying down for maximum strength. That's why I've split them through the middle. Mirror the Arm to get the matching part.
Print 3 Arm Pins. You probably only need one or two, but they are so small anyway.
Look at the exploded view. No screws needed. Maybe a drop of glue if the end cap doesn't get good enough friction fit.
Print the Ivar Pin if you don't have any spare steel pins. This model is a little shorter than the original steel pin but still sticks out a little bit so you'll be able to take it out.
This is not a perfect spool holder in any way, so feel free to remix or suggest improvements. It works for me and my setup.
