My friend had a key on a necklace. When she told me it didn't open anything, I knew I needed to give that key purpose. So i measured it and designed a jewelry box to fit the key.
The clear front is laser cut 3mm acrylic.
Some bushings were made from 2.5mm*0.225mm thin walled brass tube cut with a Dremel.
Off the shelf parts list:
24x washer M2x4x0.6
03x bearing 10x5x4
18x nylock nut M2
18x socket head screw M2x12
Estimated assembly time is 2h. Estimated print time is >20h. I printed everything in 1.75 PLA on a Prusa i3 MK3 at 20% infill. In some rare cases I had to flip a part upside down to avoid infill. In even less cases I had to turn infill on. I try to avoid it.
