A great low-cost DIY vertical blind system everybody can print and make.

I used tracing paper as main material for the blinds as it is 15 times cheaper than the dedicated fabric. (still holds up after 4 years) (standard 33cm rol cut in half)

perfect for printing:
  • max overhang 45°
  • one small bridge
  • no glue
  • no fasteners
  • no support
     

The whole system can be accommodated for other widths, scale the “band” parts in the slicer (in one direction), OR change the model: here the cad files:

The assembly:

Rest material:

A lightweight wooden stick 6x6mm to connect the carriages and a bamboo stick with the end_hook-B hot-glued in it at the end to turn the end carriage gears.

And finally: not stretchy nylon cord following this path:
