Great model, just undo the two screws on the pivot block and the two on the retaining clip at the end of the leather band and the pieces pull apart (held together with locating pegs). If your glue has survived you don't even have to take the retaining plastic pieces entirely off. You may have to bend the plastic on either side of the original plastic adjustment rails to get them out but the new ones slide in and are retained with the original retainer clip.

Mine was printed in a cheapo black ASA with as many walls as I could pack in for strength. Opted to use M5 screws instead of the printed rod for serviceability.

@Nyaruko You can easily push the rod out with a screw driver for example. If you have caps on both ends, you can also remove the cap on one side first with a flat screw driver. I am glad this model was useful to you!
