I mixed together various 'things' I found on Thingiverse and created this universal support platform. Credits to the original designers!

This is a support platform to fix various 'things' to your X-motor and acts as strain relief for the X-motor cables as well. Since it is attached to your X-motor, it moves up and down with the Z-height. It is a universal platform meant to fix Webcam's but maybe you'll have another use. I have added two designs for Webcams:

  • one for a Fisch Eye / Wide angle Raspberry Pi camera
  • one for a Logitech E35 camera
If you have another camera; you can easily design a fixture yourself, a plain support design is included as a starter.

The platform can be screwed with a spare M3 bolt/screw directly onto the spare hole on the X motor. You will need two M3 6mm screws / bolts to screw the camera support to the platform. The cables coming from the X motor can be secured with a zip-tie to the strain relief.

UPDATE 27-05-2018: added a version (V2) which moves the camera approx 30 mm away from the z-axis - to have a better overall view on the build plate
