UPDATE: Considering the comment provided below, I decided to redesign a bit to increase clearance between the extruder and the spool holder. The new version can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2904072

I really like the original design by IsmaelPR1 as found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1768975

It must have costed him quite some time to design this. Also the integrated filament guide is great. I printed the original design and found that it takes quite some time to print the bolts as well as the spool holder with the integrated filament guide. It takes quite some time because it is printing predominantly in the Z-direction and considering cooling, printing slows down. In addition it is does not give the strongest results either. Since I also use filament filters on each roll of filament, I had to cut the filament guide such that I can insert the filament without taking off the filament filter.

Hence several months ago I designed some improvements, left it for a while and recently was able to print it and made some further improvements. Now I am sharing these:

This remix has a separate filament guide which prints more in the X/Y direction (since its lying on the bed) and hence prints faster and is much stronger. The filament guide is attached to the right spool holder support element by an M3 bolt (you use a spare bolt from the Prusa spare parts kit) or by gluing it (if printed in ABS it can be glued by Acetone). I added two 45 degree recesses in the filament guide; you can either choose to leave the filament guide in one piece, or quickly make a small cut with a saw or sharp knife such that you can just insert the filament through the saw cut.

In addition, the original bolts had threading over the entire length which is not needed either. Therefor I made a rod with only threading at both end-sides of the rods and also these rods can be printed horizontally lying on the bed and as a result can be printed faster and are stronger. Added some newly designed nuts as well just for the looks.

Furthermore I ran some cables on backside of the top of the frame for my lights and made some recesses in the main spool support elements, such that cables can be guided between these holders and the frame.

For the rest no changes, so you need to grab the other components (spool rolers) from the original post (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1768975)

Kudos to IsmaelPR1 for designing and sharing this great design.

Update: also quickly drafted a "spool lock" to keep very light (sample) spools in place on the Easy Spool Holder. For details see here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2663667
