Ever since seeing the Twisted 6-sided Vase Basic by MaakMijnIdee I've been interested in learning how to model something similar in Fusion 360. I found this video: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/screencast/Main/Details/92384ff8-c0ce-4619-a649-da8541baf16f.html
So while I modeled this from scratch I'm crediting it as an inspirational remix. It was actually more complicated than I expected and the process involved creating an extrusion in the form environment and then twisting it, but instead of using that as the final body creating a new 3 dimensional sketch and then including the key points from the initial body, then using 3D lines to create the facets. Finally using the patch environment to turn the sketch to a new solid body. The result is a solid body you print in vase mode.
Instead of my normal MakerGear M2 printer I'm playing around with my new Monoprice Delta Mini to print this model.
Printer:
MonoPrice Mini Delta
Rafts:
No
Supports:
No
Resolution:
0.25
Infill:
0%
Notes:
This should be printed in "vase mode" - I used 2 solid bottom layers, then 1 outline in a spiral path all the way up the sides and no top layers.
