I had a lot of problems getting the new IR Sensor configuration working (I don't know why they got rid of the old one--it worked so well!) after installing my new MMU2S. It would work one day, but not the next. I'd set it up and it would be perfect, then try to print and it wouldn't detect the filament.
The chimney that comes with the unit is fairly short, so it takes more to move the arm in the way of the sensor. So I doubled the height of the chimney and the arm on the extruder idler door. I haven't had a problem since.
Print this in black PTE (or a matching color to your printer) and install and calibrate it just like you would with the parts that come with the MMU2S. There's no more to it than that. The only difference is that this is a little taller, which makes the arm move more when the filament is inserted, which makes it work better (in my opinion).
