RubberDACy, a Hifiberry concept case..

Hi, this is my first dive into 3D modelling and complete 3D printing project that met my needs.

I couldn't find a complete Hifiberry case that included support for the 7" touchscreen and thankfully found the wonderful work from @RonnyS ;) that made it much easier for a 3D printing noob like myself since it laid a lot of groundwork I could remix off.

I remixed the back case to fit a Hifiberry DAC2 HD and remixed the feet from RonneyS "Plate mounting bracket for 7" touchscreen case" which you can mount on top of the Apple Superdrive enclosure which adds a lot of stability and I think looks pretty cool.

Used PLA from Das Filament and Woodfill from Colorfabb and ruthex M3 Threaded Inserts since I wanted it to be flexible enough to swap out parts.

Hope someone finds this and it helps them.

Currently the setup is running Volumio. To get it to use the Apple Superdrive, do the following steps.

  1. Enable SSH by going to http://volumio.local/dev
You will see SSH on the page, just click on enable underneath it.
  2. Next, open a terminal and type in ssh [email protected] and hit enter. Enter the standard password “volumio"
  3. Once logged in, accept any prompts.
  4. After accepting prompt type in the following command to activate Apple Superdrive
    sudo dpkg --configure -a
    then
    sudo apt-get install sg3-utils
  5. Plug in the Apple Superdrive and reboot Volumio.

The reason I used the Apple Superdrive is due to how you can put in the CDs and since it uses one cable to provide data and power.

If you have any questions, please feel free to write a comment.
