Meet Echo Budz — a modular character stand that transforms your Echo Dot into a stylish desk companion.
Designed with snap-fit assembly and endless color combinations, it prints support-free and requires no glue or AMS.
A clean mix of tech decor, toy aesthetics, and functional desktop design.
Supporters get instant access before the public paid release on June 19.
A ready-to-print Bambu Studio project file is included and can be printed using your printer’s default settings.
For the best visual results, I recommend:
Seam position: Back
3 walls
Around 5% infill
no supports
This setup gives a great balance between strength, print time, and material usage — but the default settings also work well.
The project is organized into 5 plates:
Plate 1 → Main hoodie/body color + sneaker details
Plate 2 → Sneaker color transition plate
Start with the main sneaker color and switch to white at 2.6 mm layer height
Plate 3 → White sneaker sections
Plate 4 → Legs and snap-fit pins (black in the example)
The color combinations are essentially endless, so it’s worth planning your palette before printing.
Assembly is extremely simple and fully tool-free.
Just follow the included assembly image:
Assemble the shoes first
Attach the legs using the snap-fit pins
Attach the body last
No glue, screws, or tools required.

Echo Budz transforms your Echo Dot into a stylish character-inspired desk companion with a clean modular design and endless color possibilities.
Designed specifically for real-world 3D printing, the entire project is support-free, glue-free, and built around an intuitive snap-fit assembly system. Every part was carefully engineered to print cleanly while keeping the model easy to customize, assemble, and remix with different color combinations.
Unlike traditional multicolor decorative prints, Echo Budz does not require AMS. The sneaker details use a simple filament color swap during printing, allowing clean multicolor results with virtually no filament waste.
Early access for supporters before the public release on June 19.
The design combines collectible toy aesthetics, smart home decor, and functional desktop organization into a single piece. It works both as a practical Echo Dot stand and as a premium desk accessory that blends naturally into gaming setups, cozy workspaces, minimalist environments, or modern RGB desk configurations.
The modular structure also makes the project highly customizable. Different hoodie, sneaker, leg, and body color combinations completely change the personality of the character, making every print feel unique.
The proportions were carefully adjusted to create a balanced silhouette that feels expressive and decorative without becoming oversized or visually intrusive on a desk.
This project was developed through a hybrid workflow combining CAD precision and sculpting techniques, allowing clean separations, reliable snap-fit tolerances, and optimized support-free geometry while preserving the soft character aesthetic.
Echo Budz was extensively tested for practical printing, easy assembly, and consistent fit using standard FDM settings and common PLA/PETG profiles.
