I am printing parts for my Tevo Tarantula in purple so that it can have a purple/black theme going on. To that end, I wanted a purple knob. So... I made one. Or rather, I made two. The first version is a straight sided knob with a hollow interior like the original knob, with a slight indent on top. The second version is tapered, like the original, but is filled in instead, with a flat top.

On the second version, I still had the wall thickness set to 0.5mm (from the first version) so you can see a ring around the knob where the hollow portion and the solid portions meet. Thicker walls should prevent that, but I like the way it looks - kind of like a top hat - so.... it stays.

Print Settings

Printer:

Tevo Tarantula

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

20%

Notes:

Both versions need to be printed upside down to eliminate the need for support material. The second version does not need any support material at all. For the first version, though, the choice is yours. If you do not use support, the first layer of the indent sags a little (as you can see in my photo - black nail polish easily covers that up) but if you do use support, with it being such a small section, it is a PAIN to remove.

For the first version, with the hollow section, I suggest 0.5mm wall width.

Post-Printing

The first version will need to be slightly drilled out to 15/64" to properly fit the shaft of the potentiometer. I recommend drilling first to 7/32" before going down to 15/64". The second version is a perfect press fit.
