I own a repair shop in the middle of a small rural area. People, God love them, have trouble figuring out that they need to push the door open, so they wind up standing outside and just knocking. To remedy this, I created these signs. One says "Push"; one says "Pull"; and the other says "Push | If That Doesn't Work | Pull | If That Doesn't Work | We Must Be Closed!". All three have cute little stick figures trying their darnedest to get that stubborn door open.

NOTE Due to either a Thingiverse bug or (more likely) shadowbanning, my models no longer show up under the [Newest] listings. If you want to see more of my models, please be sure to 'follow' me.

Another Sketchup Model - Debunking the Myth that Sketchup is Useless in 3D Printing

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

TEVO

Printer:

Tarantula

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

10%

Notes:

All three are designed to be printed with multiple colors, pausing the print between each color change.

Swap colors at these layers (assuming you print at 0.2mm layer height):

*push andpull signs: layer 0: white layer 10: red (or green?) layer 16: black *push-pull-closed sign: layer 0: black layer 5: red layer 11: white

Of course you can use any colors you like, these are just what I used and I think look best. Also, if you scale these up or down any, be sure that the Z axis stays at 100% or these layers will no longer be accurate.

How I Designed This

The images were edited in GIMP to get the final look I wanted. From there, I ran them through Inkscape to create the .dxf vector files that I imported into Sketchup. Finally, I closed the open lines, extruded everything up and cleaned up a few dangly bits. Don't let anyone tell you that Sketchup cannot/should not be used for 3d Printing. Just like in real life, people who don't know how to use Sketchup try belittle it and anyone who does...
