I designed this spatula to handle fragile polyacrylamide and low-percentage agarose gels more easily and make picking up and depositing the gel less prone to tearing.

The main trick is to print the spatula on it's side, so the layer lines point to the front edge and help the gel slide on and off the spatula. The angled handle helps with fishing gels out of staining baths.

I printed this in Prusament PLA and it is very durable. PETG should work just as well, if not better. Supports are mandatory for the handle, but they are removed easily and the rough surfaces won't touch the gel.
