The Mooney M20J/201 is a fast, economical, four seat general aviation aircraft. This model has been scaled to match my other aircraft 3D prints.

If you're interested in printing this model at a particular scale shrink or grow the model so that the Z height of the Body prints is 1/2 of your desired scale wingspan. The Full size airplane has a wingspan of 36 feet 6 inches.

Print Settings

I printed these parts at 0.15mm layer height with supports on the outside edge of the main gear wheels and the nose get doors (as pictured). If you're printing the gear up version then no supports are needed.

Post Printing

  • Super glue the main landing gear into their respective wing locations

  • I used four square 1/4 oz "pinewood derby" weights in the nose to get it to balance right on it's wheels.

  • Use the H-snap connectors to join the two halves together.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

OnShape user Harry Bagnall seems to be original creator of this excellent airplane model. I modified it for ease of 3D printing by simplifying some of the model and removing most of the need for supports.
