My son's Galaxy S7 Edge can't be charged via USB anymore due to a defect.
The only way for him to charge it is by wireless/contactless charging
This makes charging tedious, especially when he's on the road: He has to carry not only the phone and the power bank, but also the charger with him..
I bought one oft these super-cheap Chinese Qi charging pads on AliExpress, gutted it and printed a case where I glued in the electronics. You can see the original charger in the photos. There are screws behind the bottom pads...
The case fits this charger circuit board on the inside, together with a XIAOMI Power Bank 2 (10,000 mAh).
The project is in OpenSCAD. it should be easily adaptable for any other type of smartphone and power bank...
One of the files is a Cura project file (the "*.3mf" file). it shows you how I printed the case: position it upright, switch on support (for the clamp tips) and use Cura's "Support Blocker" feature to avoid support on the rest of the case. It's not really needed!
Let me know when you've made one.
