These are for clipping the end of the filament back onto the spool once you're done printing and want to store it or swap to another color. It's important to keep the end of the filament tight and not let go as it can unspool or cause twists/crossing.
There are a lot of options for filament clips out there but sometimes it's best to keep it super simple. This is a remix of a very popular clip that has some slight improvements such as tighter clip tension and removing extras which has turned it into the only clip I'd ever need. Fast to clip on, fast to remove, and holds solid.
Two versions, one smooth and one with some small spikes because dragon.
If you want more tension, scale these up in Z slightly. I haven't really found a need to do this yet, even with some of the newer cardboard spools, but all depends on the filament you print with.
Filament: PETG, PLA works too but may become brittle over time. Something with a bit of flex recommended. Best for 0.4mm nozzles.
