I bought a paint scraper that I wanted to hang from the wall, but it didn't have a hole in the handle. It did however have a screwed on butt cap which fit into the spot where you could attach it to a longer pole. So I modeled up a simple cap that could go onto the end of the handle to give it a ring to hang from. But because I didn't know exactly where the threads would start and stop, I put a pivoting center so it can always hang the way you want.

I did need to add supports along the bottom lip of the cap and the top of the ring.

I made this for a scraper, but it should work for a paint roller or other similar tools that can be mounted by the handle to a longer pole.

That said, from what I can tell there's not one exact thread pitch for these things so this may not fit every handle. I haven't tried it on anything else to know for sure.
