The short: Box for holding desiccant.
The Long: I saw somewhere, don't remember where, a picture of someone's enclosure with an acryclic box on top covering the spool of filament. Since summer started I've been fighting humidity in my printer room constantly. This led me to buy a bunch of desiccant, and a pail, and bags, and humidity gauges, and a dehumidifier. Needless to say the filament was staying drier. The only PIA was after each printer I needed to remove the filament and store it away. In comes the acrlylic box. It took awhile to find a place to purchase one that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I'd seen them in the UK for 10 pounds, so I didn't think paying 80$ was reasonable. Now I just needed to keep it dry in the new display box. That's what this is model is for. It's a box to store the desiccant that I bought in bulk. It's designed to fit just right underneath the spool holder that I've been using for awhile now. This one, which is great.
It's a simple design, with 3mm holes for basic computer type screws (don't want the kids getting into it without a screw driver). Tested and working well.
