VW AUDI 1.8 ADR Schaltsaugrohr Verstelldödel Vacuum Actuator

Lifter for vaccum actuator for variable intake manifold 1.8l ADR Engine. As this part is poorly constructed 99% of them are brocken (meanwhile) leading to lower torque above ~4000 rpm.

To test if it works just move the throttle by hand (throttle burst) and if the mechanism is ok it should move for a second! Otherwise check for vacuum leaks, check actuator valve and wiring, maybe also the variable intake manifold shaft is sticking.

If the Lifter is brocken just remove the cap (be carefull, inside there is a spring which tends to jump in a dark & dirty place sowhere in the workshop). Exept of a screwdriver to lever the cap you dont need any tools to replace it. Please check also the diaphragm for fractures! Adding some vaseline might help to seal it.

This part was one of my first self designed modells, so its not perfect but working fine since 08.2019.

Print instructions

Print with temperature resistant material (I use Polyamide / Nylon). PLA wont work in engine compartement!!!
Print with horizontal orientation (anisotropic tensile strength of layers) and supports.
