Desk or shelf stand for unifi u7 pro xg/xgs. The u7 pro xg is quite heavy, so this is designed with large sections to be stiff and not bend over time even if printed in pla/petg, and without using a lot of filament. The ap is mounted to standoffs to isolate the stand a bit from the quite warm ap. The ap is mounted completely vertical, it is just looks like it's leaning back a bit in som of the photos.

Pla seems to work for me but we will see how it goes in the summer. If you live where it is hot pla might get floppy.

Stand in the main picture is 78g pla in 0.2 structural with 15% infill (30% in modifier areas) on a prusa mini with 0.08mm layers on the top of the 'feet' to reduce visible stair steps.

Printing

The model is designed to be printing standing on its feet with no supports. This gives it a flat underside to stand on. It is can also be printed laying on it's 'back' (see make from @jhitze for an example of this). I have provided modifier geometry to optimize the print. See "Modifier meshes" section bellow.

Mounting options

Tap to m4: The holes are modeled at 3mm but meant to be drilled to 3.2mm and tapped m4, but a reasonable sized self tapper probably works fine as well. Top hole is 12mm deep, the bottom two is 17mm.

M3 heat inserts: Use negative shape 'u7_pro_xg_stand_m3_insert_negative.stl', or if you printed original mesh with the extra walls around the holes with u7_pro_xg_stand_perimeter_modifier.stl there is enough meat to just drill to 4mm. See last picture for a small test section print with an insert.

M4 hex nut and 10-14 mm long m4 screw together with u7_pro_xg_stand_hex_nut.stl. This stand is a little bit chunkier to facilitate the pocket for the hex nut in the back without supports. See the last picture for a small section of this model. Not test printed except for this top section, please upload a picture if you print this model.

Modifier meshes

u7_pro_xg_stand_perimeter_modifier.stl: Increase perimeters and top/bottom layers around the holes for more meat to drill/tap into.

u7_pro_xg_stand_infill_modifier.stl: Increase infill density (to 30%) around the screws to support them better.

u7_pro_xg_stand_feet_infill.stl: Increase infill density where the 'feet' joins the pillars as this is a high stress area and the top inside corner of the feet connect on a flat surface.

u7_pro_xg_stand_m3_insert_negative.stl: Use as negative shape to enlarge holes to 4mm to use with m3 heat inserts.
