Design for bigger prints (1 meter tall rocket from a standard Prusa i3) : https://www.printables.com/model/467608-huge-moon-rocket

A famous comics character's moon rocket. No need for screw, no extra part, no support, no gluing, self assembling and self standing. No multi-material needed, all parts are single colored.

29/10/2024 Update: Version 2 of STL files. Made the internal transition angled to avoid outer artifacts and internal rods are shorter. Be careful to not mix versions. The assembly is the same as the big version.

Story : pierremuth.wordpress.com/2018/09/08/destination-moon/

The STL file rocket total height is only ~6.4cm, scale up to your desired size:

  • Up to ~50cm tall rocket with 700% scale is possible with a Prusa i3 MK3/4.
  • Up to ~38cm tall rocket with 600% scale is possible with a Prusa Mini
  • Scales less than 300% gives very fragile parts and (too) tight tolerances.
  • Use sanding on the central rods and segments sides if insertions are not smooth.
  • Need a good tolerance calibration of your printer/slicer.
  • Print the legs part upside down, see pictures for a placement/orientation example.

Prefer re-slicing, the 3MF files are setup for a ~50cm tall rocket (700%) but generated with a very old version of Prusa-slic3r.
