Double Bass Mute

I designed this double bass mute inspired by the commonly used ones made from hard black wood. In my experience, wooden mutes often do not fit very well. This design fits really well (on 4 string basses, tested on several instruments :-) )

Printing Instructions

• Infill: 40% or higher (gyroid recommended). Higher infill increases the weight and makes the sound slightly more “nasal”. I used 60%. 

• Orientation: Print it upright with the spikes on the print bed. The model is designed specifically for this orientation, so it is printable without supports

• Material: Use a medium hard TPU filament. The Shore hardness affects the sound, so feel free to experiment.
