Fruit flies appear out of nowhere – especially when fruit is in the kitchen. This 3D-printed trap turns any small glass into a simple, effective and reusable fruit fly trap.
Just place the lid on a glass with some fruit juice, a little vinegar and - this is important - one tiny drop of dish soap. The flies are attracted by the smell, enter through the openings, and can’t easily escape.
Minimal effort. Maximum effectiveness.
How to Use
Use dark colored filament to print the lid. Fruit flies instinctively move toward light sources.
If the trap lid is printed in dark filament, the inside of the glass stays relatively darker while the surrounding environment appears brighter.
Fill a glass with about 1–2 cm of fruit juice and some vinegar.
Add one drop of dish soap (breaks surface tension).
Place the printed lid on the glass.
Put the trap near fruit bowls, compost bins, or the sink.
The smell attracts fruit flies, they enter through the slots and remain trapped.
It may take a few days as the trap develops. So please be patient.

Smart entry slots: Narrow slits guide fruit flies inside while making it difficult for them to escape.
