This compact 5 × 5 × 5 mm calibration cube is a quick, low‑waste model for purging old filament, priming new material, and verifying printer performance.
Each face features a recessed letter, X, Y, or Z, cut into the cube to 15 % of its depth (about 0.75 mm). The letters occupy roughly 70 % of the 5 × 5 mm face (about 3.5 × 3.5 mm), helping you easily identify and evaluate dimensional accuracy along all three axes.
The remaining three faces include the print plate contact surface, the seam/start line, and one clean open face, allowing you to quickly evaluate bed adhesion, perimeter transitions, and general surface finish in a single small print.
Despite its size, the model provides enough fine detail to assess extrusion consistency, surface finish, and resolution limits. It’s an excellent quick test for filament tuning, axis calibration, or confirming baseline print settings before starting larger projects.
Print times start at around 2 minutes and will vary depending on your chosen settings.
I keep several variations stored directly on my printer for different materials and settings.
Suggested Uses:
Purging and priming filament during swaps
Checking X/Y/Z dimensional accuracy
Evaluating detail precision and surface quality
Verifying printer or filament settings
