Description

PDF

A compact and strong DIY rack for storing your standard sized rolls of filament.  Nice looking end cap pieces for the rack as shown. And pass-thru middle supports if you wanted to use longer pieces for the horizontal supports but have supports in the middle.

The dimensions I used for the conduit pieces were:
4 x 2" for the feet
8 x 9.25" for the risers
6 x 30" for the horizontals

This unfortunately does use slightly more than 2 full sticks of conduit but  it fit my needs and makes a rack capable of holding 33 standard width reels.  You can of course adjust the horizontal lengths shorter or longer to fit your space.  The lengths for the feet and risers are about as short as you can go without causing interference when putting rolls in and out.  Mine is 3 tiers tall and free standing without wall support.  It's pretty stable at 3 tiers, adding tiers and making it taller will probably make it top heavy and some sort of support tying it to a wall would be suggested since the joints are only slip fitted.

Suggested print parameters.  5 walls/top/bottom layers {this may be overkill but it is supporting a fair amount of weight),  15% rectilinear or gyroid infill. Tree supports if needed for the horizontal holes, mine bridged fine.
