Started getting into sewing, and designed a thimble that feels comfortable to me. I included a slot in this to be able to have thimble expand a bit when swapping it between different fingers. Grooves are deep enough to be able to "hook" onto the sewing needle.
there is a slight taper to allow the thimble to compress onto the finger. its a bit hard to see visually but really easy to tell which is the correct side when putting the thimble on your finger by feel.
When printing this I highly recommend 100% infill and using rafts to print. there is a chamfer on both sides of the thimble to minimize sharp edges and make it more comfortable to take on/off, but it also means there is very little surface area to hold the print to the build plate!
My hands are a bit on the larger size, if you have smaller hands I recommend scaling the print down a bit, maybe 90-95% of the original size, and it should fit better.
