Nero's Burning Ashtray - Casting Mold

A casting mold of a customized Nero bust that can also be used as an actual ashtray.

Technical Features:

• Easy Assembly: The mold is designed to be clamped together using M4 screws.

• Alignment Guides: Integrated navigation pins (alignment pins) help you perfectly align the parts for a precise fit.

• Leak-proof: The screw-and-pin system ensures the mold stays tight during the casting process.

Design Notes: Due to limited time, I was only able to print a smaller test version of the mold. This revealed a few issues: because of the shrunk scale, the actual ashtray rim and the base of the model were damaged during demolding.

However, thanks to this test, I was able to remake the mold into a more efficient multi-part system to make such problems less likely to occur in the future. Despite all of this, the model should be working just fine.e.

Material Recommendations: I used plaster for the test, however I recommend choosing something stronger, probably concrete, because of its durability and strength.
