Description

3D printable topographic miniature of Leeds - 🇬🇧 United Kingdom

Capture the beauty of Leeds's city landscape with this topographic miniature! This 3D model represents the geographic area around the geo coordinates 53.797, -1.544 (LatLng).

It is scaled down from a geographic area of around 2.820 km x 1.971 km to a 3D printable miniature in the dimensions of 170.5 mm x 119.5 mm. The scale from the geographic area (5.559 sq km) to the miniature is approximately ~16539:1.

The terrain is modeled from geographic data for realistic terrain representation. Ideal for educational purposes, architectural visualization, or as a decorative piece.

Also don't miss out on the other miniatures. Find them in my miniature collection.

Included Frames:

  • Dimensions of 190.70 x 139.70 x 11.81 mm, text Engraving "Leeds" with hanging holes

  • Dimensions of 178.70 x 127.70 x 11.31 mm, no text engraving with hanging holes (fits A1 mini bed size)

  • Dimensions of 190.70 x 139.70 x 11.31 mm, no text engraving with hanging holes

What's Included:

  • STL files for the miniature and all frame variants

  • Generic 3MF containing all STLs for easy import into any slicer

  • Bambu Studio 3MF with optimized print profiles for A, P, X, and H-Series printers (pre-colorized)

  • Snapmaker Orca 3MF with optimized print profiles for the Snapmaker U1 (pre-colorized)

Recommended Print Settings:

  • The included 3MF files contain two highly specialized print profiles: "miniature-classic" and "miniature-arachne". For optimal results, use "miniature-arachne" (note: expect long slicing times).

  • Due to the nature of geographic terrain data, models may contain non-manifold geometry or areas that require support material. This cannot be avoided. Our included print profiles handle these cases well.

  • For printers from other manufacturers or other slicers, check our Miniature Printing Guide for recommended settings (especially support settings).

Assembly:

  • Gently put the miniature into the frame. Depending on your printer's calibration, that should be enough to hold the miniature.

  • If in doubt, use some super glue. For PLA, I use this glue* (thick variant). I experienced best results with glue that contains Ethyl-2-cyanacrylat.

  • Hanging Holes: My frames always have a hole pattern divisible by 10 mm - for this miniature's size the "Hanging Hole Distance" results in 60 mm between holes.
