This is a first version of a frame, or electronics and motor mount for the Birdy X 2.0 RC Paper Airplane kit from Hawk's Work. As printed, in transparent PLA, it came out to about twice the original weight. Right around 4g which was flyable but heavy and test conditions weren't great.
IMO, THIS IS NOT A FINAL FLYABLE VERSION. IT IS A PROTOTYPE MEANT TO INSPIRE IDEAS OR REMIX!
I have a next version which is more streamlined closer to 2g but I'm sharing this one in case it's useful or inspires someone to remix or make requests and suggestions!
I printed without supports and got good enough results to work with. That said, overhangs and contours are all part of new design rework. The motor mounts are designed at 6.1mm diameter but were a bit tight. Rather than reprint with hole compensation, I cut a relief cut in each which made for a great tight fit. For a final print of this specific version, I'd add a little compensation. My new designs will have relief designed in ...

It's a fun kit and we've had some great flights but the original frame did snap after a pretty vertical crash.
