E3NG-Based CoreXY Laser Engraver

This project is a DIY CoreXY laser engraver based on the E3NG XY gantry.
All gantry parts were printed directly from the original E3NG files (link included below). This upload focuses on the custom-designed parts and structural modifications required to adapt the E3NG gantry for laser engraving.

What This Project Adds

In order to convert the E3NG gantry into a rigid, laser-ready platform, I designed and printed several custom components:

• Laser mounting adapter plate – custom-modeled to securely mount the laser module to the E3NG carriage

• Gantry legs – designed specifically for laser use

  • Connect to the aluminum frame using T-nuts and M5 screws

  • Equipped with Voron rubber feet for improved stability and vibration damping

• Cable supports – custom-designed guides for the laser wiring

• Frame reinforcement – an additional 2040 aluminum extrusion was added to increase frame stiffness

  • The front legs are directly connected to this extrusion

• Cable management – wiring is routed using Voron clip-in cable clips that attach to 2020 extrusions

Electronics & Firmware

• Controller: MKS DLC32 v2.1

• Drivers: TMC2209

• Firmware: FluidNC

  • A complete FluidNC configuration file is included

This electronics setup provides smooth motion, quiet operation, and reliable laser control.

• This project reuses the original E3NG XY gantry design — full credit goes to the original creator

• Only the custom parts and modifications are included here

• The design is modular and easy to adapt for different laser modules or frame sizes

Goal of the Project

The goal was to create a rigid, clean, and reliable CoreXY laser engraver using the proven E3NG gantry, while keeping all modifications fully printable and easy to reproduce.

i used the top part of the e3ng for the motion system and the case for the mks dlc board and made the holes smaller so m3 heatset inserts will fit.
