I recently got a Snapmaker U1 and wasn't satisfied with any of the tool holders out there. I tried the one that goes inside but found it annoying to have to open the door every time I needed my tools. I decided to use a hole on the top of the printer that is normally covered up by a rubber gromet to mount the tool holder.
Models: There is a right and a left version (pictures 1 and 3 respectively) for whatever side you want it on. They will work on any corner and are reversable so it's just personal preference. Just be aware if you put it on the front reversed the wire cutters will contact the door if its opened (seen in last 2 pictures).
Print Settings: Nothing to special but supports are required. I printed mine with standard 0.2 mm layer height, 2 walls and tree support.
Note: You do have to remove the rubber gromet that covers the hole and find somewhere to put it. Also, I would suggest pushing the wire brush onto its holder as it is much more secure as seen in image 5.
While I didn't remix their model, I did take inspiration from Cyberdyne and their "Snapmaker U1 Tool Holder for my Top Cover Adapter". https://www.printables.com/model/1555614-snapmaker-u1-tool-holder-for-my-top-cover-adapter/files
If you have any changes you would like me to make feel free to leave a comment and I will get to them as soon as possible.
