Description

PDF

Paired with hooks modified from original designs by @seanbrowntown, this hook-and-wedge system offers mounted foot hooks paired with carefully crafted wedges - They work with most popular sensors and perfectly angle the hooks to lock in your ride.

Designed to work around common sensor shapes, these hooks can be mounted on most footpads with common sensors applied without causing any activation issues.

Printed in TPU, these hooks are indestructible.

I'll plan to upload more compatible attachments from Sean, in the near future!

File Naming

"##x##"

First number is the height of the wedge at the inside edge, in millimeters. The second number is the angle of the wedge. "10x10" is 10mm tall at the inside edge with a 10 degree angle.

Hardware

  • 7 x M5x25mm countersunk screws

  • 7 x M6x20mm flat head screws (perhaps with some washers to pair)

  • 7 x M5x8mm threaded wood inserts (example)

  • 7 x M6x8mm threaded wood inserts (example)

  • Foam for padding the hooks, if you like

Printing Instructions

Hooks

  • 95a TPU has served me well in terms of strength and being flexible enough to take hits. Others have had good experiences with anything from 95a to 72d or PBT Pro, also.

  • 4 perimeter walls (on a 0.6mm nozzle) is plenty

  • 50% cubic infill is what I've typically used for a good mix of strength and flex.

  • Organic supports will be needed for the main overhang

  • I recommend using mouse ears to keep things adhered to the bed

Wedges

  • 95a TPU recommended

  • 7 perimeter walls (on a 0.6mm nozzle) is necessary to keep the threaded inserts from breaking through to the infill layers

  • I have typically used 50% cubic infill.

  • No supports needed

  • I recommend using mouse ears to keep things adhered to the bed

  • After printing

    • Thread in M5 threaded inserts to the smaller holes as needed

    • Thread in M6 threaded inserts to the larger holes as needed
