I recently purchased an Ender 3 Pro on auction. Some of the filament spools I had, had a smaller hole so the standard Ender 3 Spool holder would not fit at all. (See the fiirst 2 pics. )
So I designed this new rod that is thinner but uses the fixing nut of the original Ender 3 spool holder as well as a nut to keep the spool in place. (See pic 3)
The rod screws down exactly like the original one except I can now load my spools with the smaller central hole.
The rod should be printed with > 50% infill to make it strong and printed vertically.
Supports are needed only on the bottom most part where the original Ender nut is screwed on.
Important: Do not use a RAFT ever. But use a BRIM of 4 mm touching the model for stability.
The nut can be printed with 20% infill and no supports.
I have included my Sketchup files for anyone who needs to mod this.

Filament: Generic PLA Orange Post-Printing =============
Some cleanup will be required as the bottom part uses supports. Also a little sanding for the bottom part is needed as the tolerance is very fine for the Ender fitting.
Once printed and the Ender 3 nut fits properly, it can replace the original rod for the Spool holder.
Used Sketchup.
