The 3-piece foot pack utilizes the threaded holes on 2017-2022 Chevy Bolt Premier EV (and EUV) roof rails.
I didn't like the generic clamp style attachment that came with the CargoLoc cross bars, so I modeled and replaced them with these parts.
I drive on the highway often and designed this for the top section to be installed/removed.
I noticed ~25% decrease in range when my surf attachment was on. Now I leave the base installed during the weekdays and attach my cross bars for the weekend; haven't noticed any range decrease since.
Required hardware/parts:
Installation Instructions:
- Use M6x50mm screws and M6 washers to attach base to the roof rail; BASE SHOULD BE FLUSH AGAINST ROOF RAIL. If not, rotate 180 degrees.
- Place square nuts in the angled openings of the base; two per base.
- Install anchor piece into cross bar by removing one of the plastic end pieces. Place a square nut in the anchor piece before sliding into the crossbar and placing end piece back on. Two anchors per cross bar.
- Use M6x35mm screws and M6 washers to screw top piece into anchor; flat edges facing inward (towards center of car), fillet edges facing outward.
- Adjust distance of top pieces; start with 37-inches and 36-inches apart, outer edge to outer edge. I think the rear is further apart, but you'll figure it out quickly when you try to attach to base.
- Use M6x35mm screws and M6 washer to attach top-cross bar assembly to the base!
Other Remarks:
- Printed with Carbon Fiber PETG.
- Infill at 40%
- Used with my surfboard without issue; user discretion advised for larger objects
- Share excess hardware with friends
