I re-contstructed a retainer bolt for securing the bottom tray in our waste container (brand: Kliko) because I was unable to find a replacement for the one that was broken.
The design contains a 3D printed grommet (flexible filament) and a stainless steel carriage bolt and cap nut.

Print instructions

The design
I designed this in Fusion 360. The basic geometry, the washer and the grommet have been copied from the original design. But I did modify the design because the strength of the injection molded original cannot be replicated by 3D printing. (The forces during emptying the waste container are considerable.) I reinforced the design with a M6 bolt all thru so the 3D printed material cannot shear off or pulled apart.

Filament
Retainer bolt: PETg or other UV resistant filament (like ABS)
Washer: PETg or other UV resistant filament (like ABS)
Grommet: Ninjaflex or similar flexible filament (like TPE)

Slicer settings
Layer height: 0.15 mm
Perimeters: 6 (yes I know: overkill)
Top/bottom layers: 7 top, 5 bottom
Infill: 15% cubic

Modifiers for Retainer Bolt: (see pictures)
Support enforcer: Locally Only under first layer of threat.
Part modifier: 1 solid layer at first layer above square hole gives support to Ø6mm hole. It can be easily drilled open afterwards.

Installation
The washer fits over the M16x4 trapezoid thread.
The grommet needs it flexibility to get it over the same thread.
Run a Ø6mm drill thru the hole before installing the bolt.
Install the M6 x 50mm carriage bolt square neck (stainless steel)
Install the M6 Cap nut (stainless steel), secure it with Loctite.

Background
The container is green and used solely for vegetable, fruit, and garden waste. Not many of the containers in the Netherlands do have such a perforated tray, but ours does. Frozen waste can mean that the container is not fully emptied in the winter. Moist can drip out thru the tray to the lower part that has some ventilation mesh. For cleaning purposes the tray should be removeable and it is hold in place with 2 of these retainer bolts. See last 2 photo's.
