I've tried printing covers with PLA, but they are brittle and offer no real protection.

 I made this mould to make covers using some rubbery material.

You would have to glue part 2 and part 3 together to form the bottom mould component. 

Clamp the mould once assembled, pour your silicone, glue etc, and wait…
