This is a bracket to mount a Johnson Laser Level to a 5/8" dowel. It can also be screwed to a post or wall. If it is flipped over it could be used for almost any smaller laser levels. I find it works okay for up to about a 3' long dowel. I just drilled a 5/8" hole in a board for the dowel stand base.
I found this very useful during a summer long Hardscape project. I was able to screw the mount to a fence post and slide the laser in and out of the mount as needed without resetting my heights. I left the mount screwed to the post all summer.
The bottom threaded knob is 5/8"-11 thread. The back clamp is 1/4"-20 thread.
