Hexagonal Valentine Storage Box

Perfect for storing sweets, chocolates, jewelry, notes, or small treasures, the box works equally well as a gift box or decorative storage piece. The hexagonal shape gives it a distinctive look while remaining compact and practical.

Designed with 3D printing in mind, the model prints cleanly without supports and is suitable for most common filaments. The embossed details are optimized to show clearly even at standard layer heights.

MAGNETS:

The lid is held shut using 4 × flat magnets (10mm x 5mm x 2mm).
Magnets are glued into pre-sized recesses.

 PRINTING RECOMMENDATIONS:

• • Material: PLA

• • Layer height: 0.15 mm recommended (0.2 mm optional)

• • Perimeters: 2

• • Infill: ~10%

• • Supports: Not required

For best embossing quality, print the lid standing upright, with the hinges on top.
A 5mm brim on the lid is recommended for bed adhesion.

Tip: Use variable layer height on the top of the hinge to achieve smoother rounded surfaces.
The attached PrusaSlicer .3mf project already comes with this modifier applied.

HINGES:

The model prints as two separate parts: the box and the lid.
Use a piece of 1.75 mm filament through the hinge center hole to join the two parts.

Tip: Cut the filament hinge rod flush on each end, then add a small drop of glue to one end to lock it in place. This prevents the filament from sliding out.

Scaling: The model scales well, but note that the hinge center hole will also scale, which may make inserting the hinge-filament difficult. If scaling the model down, add a custom 2.0 mm hole through the hinge center in the slicer.

CUSTOM BOX TEXT:

The box front supports custom recessed text. Add your favorite book-title directly in the slicer!

In PrusaSlicer:

• Add Text Modifier

• Set to Cut

• Depth: 1.2 mm

• Select the desired font and adjust size and positioning

 A ready-made text modifier is included in the .3mf files
