Another Garmin bracket, this time with mountain bikes in mind. The clamp can be printed in place, with no supports necessary. The interface itself is in several parts, to improve durability and make it easier to print, again without requiring supports. You'll need an M3 cap screw (8mm or so) and nut for the clamp. I put a bunch of different sizes up (yay parametric CAD). I use the 35x35 and the 31.8x50 myself, on my mountain bike and road bike respectively. Assembly of the interface is as follows:
UPDATE (11/11/21): I had one of mine break recently, ironically on the bar clamp itself, not the actual Garmin interface. As such I've made a bit of an update where I've beefed up the clamp a little bit and adjusted the profile of the parts that hold the nut in place. I've also removed the hole as it played havoc with the parametric nature of the model; in some sizes Fusion got itself tied up in knots. It contributed to the failure I experienced and led to steep overhangs on some of the longer versions, and given it was pretty pointless in the first place it seemed dumb to keep it. Lastly, I loosened the tolerances on the clamp hinge a bit as someone complained they couldn't get it to release.
UPDATE (11/12/21): After a heavy pothole hit, I cracked my road bike mount around the area where the arm meets the Garmin interface, so I've thickened this spot a little. It was a PETG print, which in my experience is prone to cracking so maybe it would have been fine in PLA, but a little extra girth here isn't going to hurt. I also slightly adjusted some of the dimensions on the spring and lock ring to multiples of 0.4mm, for better printing.
UPDATE (21/05/22): Widened the clamp split a little since someone reported having trouble with it gripping their bars.
UPDATE (29/01/23): Added variations with the interface rotated through 90 degrees, to suit Wahoo computers (I hope, I don't have one to test).
UPDATE (02/04/23): Following feedback, I've updated the Wahoo variants so they (hopefully) work a bit better. Basically, I've widened the opening and mirrored the clamp.
UPDATE (25/04/23): Adjusted a few tolerances and dimensions to improve the strength of the pivot.
UPDATE (17/09/23): Various tweaks and tolerance changes, improving the Wahoo option and general “snappiness” of the interface.
UPDATE (07/09/24): People keep asking for left or right handed versions. Now added.
