IMPORTEN!!!!
----For now it is only for 350 frames. But you can still use it beside any printer if you skip the Skirts and the microswitches are not done yet in the config----
Hello there!
This is a DIY filament dryer that can be used while printing. Can take up to 4 DIFFERENT or individual filament. Dry your filament while multicolor printing. Dry 3 filament and use the fourth for printing and drying. Do you have multimarerial printer? No worries, Frej dryer can dry 4 different materials at same time and individual from each other. All by using klipper. Connect it with the printer you using and you can monitor the dryer from the UI you are using, like for example Mainsail.
Frej dryer is most made to be a solution for multi color or material printing. To keep the filament dry while printing. This make the filament keep consistent quality thro whole printing sessions. As the filament is extruded it makes the spool rotate and we also get a more consistent drying around the spool. The dryer using the polydryer mounting or outlet and intake, so it will probably work for those who have the cerial containers also. You just need to print an adapter that fit you cerial container with polydryers mount. There is alot of those adapters to find STLs for.
NEW! (Dont want to Connect it to the printer or lock it to one printer? No worries, by setting up a new host like a raspberry pi and have it inside the dryer. Then you have a ”stand alone” unit that you can move around to other printers and can use it with multiple instances.)
You find the config in my discord if you want the Stand alone version as describe above. In #frej-links named "Frej-printer.cfg"
I recommend to Print the Frame bottom and top in PETG or something that dosent warp easy. Everything that are in the chamber like, the Polydryertop, 4028 Fanholder, the HousingMount and the HeaterHousing PTC. Use minimum ABS or more heat resistant filament for those.
DO NOT USE ANY CF (Carbon Filled) FILAMENT!!! Carbon can if you are unluckey lead electric power and we are dealing with high voltage as 230/120V!! If you want to use fiber filament, then use GF (Glassed Filled).
Infill 15-20%
Gyroid, Grid, Cross Hatch
0.2 Hight
0.4 Nozzle
5 walls
Top/Bottom 10
PETG For non heater contakt or chambers
ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PPS (Minimum ABS heating resistans filament) For parts close to Heater
Support is needed on BottomFrameR and BottomFrameL
You need to find a DIN mount for your PSU of choice, SSR relay and for the Octopus Pro v1.1 board. I provide some exaples here:
