Prusa Side Light

This light is great to have your model lid while being printed, proven to be light weight and will not cause issues to print quality.

Building materials

• 1x USB cable >5mm thick preferably long enough to reach a USB power supply and allow the Z axis moving freely
• 1x USB power supply with minimum 1A of output
• 1x LED strip with 5050 chips or equivalent with 160mm in length with approximately 10 led lights ( eBay 5V USB 5050 LED Strip Light White 2m 3m 5m Monitor TV Backlight Tape Lighting UK)

Building instructions

• Run the USB cable through the hole at the mount head, making sure you run the cable in the LED channel for 35mm to prevent shadow from the axis mount
• Cut the LED strip to a length that covers from the cable to the channel end
• Using the stick adhesive make sure it is sticked to the channel before soldering it makes it simpler  
• Using a soldering iron solder the (+) and (-) according to your LED PCB design

NOTE: make sure you have plenty cable to allow the Z axis to move freely if it gets caught it could compromise the print and the printer.
