These TPU/PLA hybrid box designs have been adapted to securely hold E3D V6 nozzles.
Two of the provided .STL files are single print hinged boxes that are printed with TPU for the first three layers and PLA for the remaining layers, with a choice of 9 or 16 nozzle holes inside. Everything is self-contained within these models, you do not need to also print the βmoduleβ files. Using TPU and PLA filaments that have very similar ideal printing temperatures works best when printing these boxes. The greenish box in my pictures uses this design.
The other two .STL files are modules that fit snuggly within the existing square TPU/PLA hybrid box (link), also available with a choice of 9 or 16 nozzle holes. This version is nice because you can remove the nozzle module with some pliers later if you would like to repurpose the box. The black/wooden box in my pictures uses this design.
My Key Slicer Setting Suggestions for the Boxes
Temperatures: ~210C nozzle temp for both filaments, 50C bed temp
Layer height: 0.2mm
Print speed: I use ~30mm/s for all the TPU layers.
Flow rate: I increase the flow rate from the default 95% up to 105% for the three TPU layers and the first PLA layer [this assumes the extrusion multiplier is set to 1 in the gcode]
Supports: None
Printing surface: Prusa textured steel or satin sheet
Filaments: PRILINE for the TPU, various brands for the PLA [pictured are Hatchbox wood PLA and Prusament 3rd anniversary PLA π]
