Fantastic work by @53Aries, as this was a definitive-needed mod, as the stock filament run out sensors consistently have filament get caught and stuck. This issue is even worse if you use a QIDI Box.

As he mentioned in the discord, the aftermarket ECAS fittings really bite into the PTFE tube, causing a lot of wear prematurely. The stock filament run out ECAS generally has been good for me on both P4 and Q2, so I adjusted it to fit in the housing. Additional geometry and additions through a handful of remodels and tests have proved that this model works extremely well.

Models:

-Adjusted Reccomended Model, modified with internal geometry modeled differently. Allows a nice secure fitment of the stock ECAS, and additionally a supported function of a bit more PTFE tube insertion for security and better filament path. Has an additional bottom extrusion that protrudes into the extruder. This model also has an additional 1mm extruded on the backside, as the original model would not align with the extruder inlet.

-Unmodified mostly sized model with adjustments only made to ECAS hole. True to @53Aries model, so if his model works for you, give it a try

REQUIRES some light sanding of the final filament hole (where the PTFE tube ends, to add some beveling, otherwise your filament WILL get stuck right there). Modeling this portion did not give me good results when printed, so a hand bevel is required.

Printed in:
ISANGU PC-CF
0.12 Layer height, 4 Walls, 15% TPMS-D Infill

Items:
D2F Switch
4mm Ball Bearing
Stock ECAS from Filament Runout sensor or possibly from your old toolhead ptfe tube when you got your Q2 Box combo.

Instructions:

Recommend printing in High Temp filament, and ideally CF/GF, otherwise the fitting may not be a snug fit.

NORMAL supports

4 interface layers
Top Z distance = same as layer height max, recommend 0.12
Interface Layer Speed to 50
Top Interface Spacing 0.2

Add a light bevel with hand sanding tool. Try to only hit the final inside diameter as best as possible. Dont go crazy, just some light movements on the highlighted area below

PTFE tube should be inserted first and sit flush in its dedicated hole. ENSURE it is nice and square on the end, otherwise you will catch. When you fully install later, you should be able to remove the PTFE tube just fine, just be sure to seat it fully all the way down.

Test fit, and try to move the filament around at different angles. If catching, go back and re-bevel with hand tool.

You may catch on the lower portion where the 4mm ball bearing and D2F switch goes. Ignore this, or install the full assembly to be sure, and test fully assembled.

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

-Enlarged the ECAS fitting hole to accept the stock ECAS from the original filament runout sensor.

-Additional models for different fitment and options and modifications to test what best suits you
