The UK coin 50p (pee or pence) has a lot of commemorative designs for important events, that makes it quite collecable.

This design is intended to hold those coins in a print tray for easy display - less of a ballancing act, especially if the bottom of a design is on a point rather than flat! This holder is aimed at the smaller,newer coin, minted from September 1997 onwards.

Next run I'm going for some Black PLA, or possibly brown to match the tray, green was to hand but detracts from both tray and coin.

How I Designed This ===================

The "equilateral curve heptagon" is a great shape to get your head around, how to draw it can be found in the schools material on the Royal Mint educational resources.

Broadly I've gone for a fit where the coin snaps into place.

The "spacer" to hold these equally off the back of the print tray is hollow to allow you to pop the coin out. Also, this spacer doesn't run to the edge so you can push on a edge to flip the holder out from the tray.

Overall size down about 0.5mm on the tray opening and rounded corners clear the tray wall joints.
