0.50 Caliber BMG Round and Belt (12.7×99mm NATO cartridge)

It's been over 2 years since we added models.  Most of these were created in 2023, 2024, or early 2025.  My middle school son is learning his way through Tinkercad and Onshape.

This model needed more precision than Tinkercad can offer.  He found dimensions for a 50 BMG round online and copied it into Onshape.  Part of the job was making the 0.50 caliber bullet and casing, but this experiment was more about challenging himself to create the belt links that work properly without too much online guidance.

We have full size parts to print the full cartridge together or the bullet and casing separate.  Also scaled the full round and a belt link down to 50% to see how well they print.  Depending on the orientation and size of the belt link supports may be needed.
