Remix Description – Spool-Optimized Silica Gel Box (Adjusted Diameter)

This is a geometry-only remix of the original Silica Gel Box – Spool Container of 3D_Workspace.

What was changed

  • The 50 mm / 25 g version was scaled up to create a thicker variant with improved wall robustness which fits reliably in the ~74 mm internal passage of my filament spools.

  • The 100 mm / 200 g version was scaled down so the outer diameter fits reliably in the ~74 mm internal passage of my filament spools.

Purpose of the remix

The goal was to retain the proven internal geometry and ventilation of the original design while adapting the outer dimensions to:

  • Fit inside my spool cores

  • Improve mechanical stability when inserting and removing the container

  • Allow flexible use of both small and larger desiccant fills within constrained spool diameters

Notes

  • No functional features were redesigned; only uniform scaling was applied.

  • Lid compatibility remains unchanged relative to each scaled body.

  • Print settings and material recommendations from the original model still apply.

All credit for the original design goes to the original author—this remix only adjusts dimensions to solve spool clearance and wall thickness constraints.
