
I created this script because I needed a flexible enclosure for my Smart Home projects (Home Assistant, sensors, etc.) and didn't want to design a new box from scratch every time.
It allows you to generate a box of any size with just a few clicks. It's designed to be practical: you can fit a standard USB charger inside to power your electronics directly from mains, and the base features a mounting grid so you can screw in your components (ESP32, buck converters, etc.) using small self-tapping screws. No more glue or custom standoffs for every board.
You don't need to know how to code. Just open the file in OpenSCAD, use the sliders on the right, and export your STL.
Internal Charger Space: Optional module to hold a compact USB charger inside the case.
Universal Mounting Grid: Screw down any component (ESP32, relays, etc.) anywhere on the grid.
Ventilation: Fully customizable hole patterns on the back cover to keep your electronics cool.
Wall Mounts: Add strong mounting tabs to any side (Top, Bottom, Left, Right).
Waterproof-style: Designed with a lid groove and optional external locking lugs for a secure screw-down fit.
Custom Text: Engrave a label or name directly onto the back cover.
Cable Management: Add cable pass-throughs or antenna holes on any face.
The web customizer won't work because this design uses the BOSL2 library for better geometry.
Download OpenSCAD.
Download the BOSL2 Library and put it in your OpenSCAD libraries folder.
Open the .scad file.
Go to Window -> Customizer and use the sliders to adjust your box.
No Supports Needed: The screw holes use a built-in sacrificial layer (a tiny 0.2mm bridge). It looks closed in the slicer, but you just push the screw through it during assembly.
Material: PETG or ASA is recommended if you use the internal charger (for heat resistance). PLA is fine for simple sensor boxes.
